Dạng đề này khá thú vị với hai câu hỏi yêu cầu bạn phải trả lời từng câu, phân tích, nêu lý do và lấy ví dụ chứng minh cho câu trả lời của mình. Explorers, along with scientists, have long traveled to previously inaccessible locations in the interests of exploration and understanding our world better. Now tourists are also going on excursions there for purely personal reasons with potentially serious effects such as bringing in pollutants and disturbing local wildlife. The benefits of such activities are therefore highly contentious.
For thousands of years, mankind has sought to reach every part of this world in the interest of discovering it all and learning as much as possible. This has opened up these remote areas to human encroachment at a level never experienced before; for example, after the Southern Pacific Ocean was mapped, whalers and seal hunters were sent there in droves to bring back whale oil & seal skins for burgeoning European markets. This brought riches to many merchants and an expansion of trade networks which definitely increased the world economy. However, there were no controls on the killing, so some species were hunted tonear or complete extinction, affecting the natural ecosystem greatly.
As the world economy has grown, more people have taken to traveling to remote places, even back in the early 1980’s tourists could take a commercial flight over Antarctica from New Zealand, until a plane crashed into a mountain in bad polar weather. While this is a disaster for the people killed, their families and the tourism industry, it also severely impacted a pristine environment, with debris scattered over a large area. This is not anisolated incident either as thousands of tourist boats go to unexplored areas such as Northern Alaska every year, all impacting onfragile environments, including wildlife such as Polar Bears.
Overall, the only advantage I can see is scientific research, which can bringincalculable benefitswhereas the negatives are manifold, from pollution, including from accidents, to deliberate hunting of endangered species. Personally, I believe these areas should only be open to carefullyvettedscientific research to ensure future generations still have this as part of their world.
Genetic engineering is an important issue in society today. Some people think that it will improve people’s lives in many ways. Others feel that it may be a threat to life on earth. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
It is true that genetic engineeringis a key area of modern scientific research, with broad implicationsfor all human societies. While I accept that this field of technology may have its dangers, I believe that the benefits of genetic engineering outweigh the drawbacks.
The negative implications of genetic engineering are often discussed in terms of two key areas, which are food production and the cloning of humans. Genetically modified cropsare already being grown, and people are concerned that they may damage whole ecosystemsas foods become resistantto diseases and natural predators. But perhaps even more worrying is the possibility that humans could be modified or cloned. Some people imagine a world in which cloned humans are used to fight wars or to provide body part replacements. A more optimistic prediction, and one that I favour, is that humans will find ways to mitigatethe risks and use genetic technologies in a responsible way. From the food production perspective, genetic engineering could be the solution to faminein developing countries, if, for instance, crops can be grown more reliably in harsh conditions. From a medical perspective, scientists may use genetic engineering to produce vaccines, to cure diseases, or to correct a genetic defectbefore a child is born. If properly regulated, even cloning can be done in a way that improves lives. For example, the cloning of individualorgans, such as a heart or kidney, could be permitted for transplant purposes.
In conclusion, I am convinced that genetic engineering will have a positive impact on our lives, and that people’s fears will be unwarranted.
Society is based on rules and laws. It could not function if individuals were free to do whatever they wanted to do. To what extent do you agree or not?

It is always easy to harm others, whether it is intentionalor not. That is why society is heavily regulatedand becoming more so with every passing year. If we drive too fast, we will obviously hurt someone else before too long. “No man is an island,” all those around us affect us as we affect others in turn; therefore, we have to have limits to our behaviour to ensurethat everyone is safe to live their lives the way they choose.
Although our choices are limited by laws and morals, I still believe that we have plenty of freedom to live our lives happily in most countries in the world. Too much restrictionforces us to live in certain ways that may not allow us to express ourselves in a way that’s true to ourselves. So whoever makes the rules must do so altruistically.
In sum, without the necessary limitations that keep us safe, society could never be stablefor long. However, over-regulatingcan be just as restrictive. Balance is therefore needed.
The qualities that help people reach success in modern life cannot be learned in university or other academic institutions. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Success does not carry the same meaningfor everyone. Some people believe that the sources required to become successful cannot be taught in educational facilitiesand tertiary education. This essay will discuss the ideas above.
To begin, it is clear that some people are born with the skills required to become very successful in life. However, it is unclear what is meant by the word “success”. To some, success means having a happy family, while to others, success might represent financial security. It is clear that the road to success is not an easy one; however, through training and practice, the skills and qualities required for success can be mastered.
